Working with children has been one of the greatest blessings I've ever experienced. I wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I have two children of my own and I'm so excited to be working as a teacher to such amazing students

Ashtyn Peterson

I've had the wonderful opportunity to be a member of the Morning Star team for 8 years. Throughout this journey, I have had the privilege of working closely with my mother as a teacher's assistant. I have also taken on the fulfilling responsibility of teaching advanced K5 students for the past three years. I firmly believe that children thrive when they are fully engaged and enjoying themselves. Therefore, I try to have an exciting classroom environment where the students always have something to look forward to. However, I never lose sight of the importance of each child mastering all concepts. The perfect balance between fun and education is very important to me. I believe that children need structure and clear guidelines in order to be a success. I am committed to helping my students learn, grow, and become everything heavenly father intended for them to be. I love my job and look forward to teaching again this year!

Sarah Richards

This will be my 4th year teaching at Morning Star and I have loved that each year gets better and better! My goal as a teacher is to not only teach my students academically and help them learn, but to also instill the principles and teachings of our Heavenly Father into my students' hearts. I watch for different ways I'm able to tie my students' hearts to their parents. I try my best to make learning fun and enjoyable. One of my strengths is communication with my students' parents. I like keeping all of my parents involved in everything, whether big or small, and love including them in any activities possible. I love seeing the progress that my students make and do my best to help them become a success!
